Mariology: Clearly explains Marian Beliefs
/* Before making my review, I want to point out that this book was published in 1914. before the Dogma of the Assumption was declared a Dogma (1950). The author does not say the doctrine is Dogmatical, but he does not attack it. Most if the time he points out weak arguments used to defend the Assumption. */
This book offers an explanation of various Marian dogmas (eg, the Immaculate Conception, the perpetual virginity), proving them from tradition & scripture and defending them from objections.
I found this reading very interesting and enlightening, and would recommend this to anybody interested on what the Church teaches about the Blessed Virgin. Each doctrine is elucidated in a very clear manner, the book is richly decorated with writings from the Church Fathers and Scripture.
It may be hard to understand for those unacquainted with latin (some phrases are in latin & offer no translation) or who have little grasp of the Catechism, but once this difficulties are reduced it is very straight forward.
I give it a four tough because some parts could be better.
